Excel document recovery – Excel repair tools reviewed
Excel Recovery Toolbox - The only positive aspect of this tool is that it is cheap. If you have a very basic XLS file then this tool may do the trick. If you do not then you have to consider that this tool does not recover the following elements:
It does not repair pint settings, conditional formatting, data validity, range, worksheet and workbook protection, asian phonetic blocks, hyperlinks, calculation and sorting settings, It also does not recover objects, pictures, diagrams, notes, merged cells, comments and no
VBA macros. Wow, so what's left.
Recoveryfix - This tool clearly "imitates" other Excel repair tools in its design and even name. It is actually ExcelRecovery but with a different interface. This is just weird, with no reason to do that that sounds legitimate the tool comes out as a very average application. this tool does not support Excel 2007 which is a problem.
Kernel for Excel - Once you get over the bad English you face the same problem as with the previous tool. It does not support Excel 2007. This is a serious limitation to the average user.
ExcelFIX - This is by far the best tool. It supports Excel 2007. Of all the tools for Excel document recovery this one is obviously the only "professional" one. Everything about the tool, from its performance to its lack of glitches are obviously the result of a serious business. I am not saying the rest are not but just make the following simple experiment. Visit all the sites that are home to the different products and click on "about us". You will understand what I mean. A bit pricey but if you are serious about what you want for your money it is definitely a good investment.
